Abstract

PURPOSE:A drum type dot printer which simplifies circuit composition, decreases disorder rate, and improves the economical performance by controlling the revolution of a printing drum with pulse motor. CONSTITUTION:As to a pulse motor 5, one step angle advanced by one exciting switch is set at degree theta equivalent to the angle made by the lines connecting the adjacent dots and the central axis 0. The pulse motor 5 is rotated by the angle theta in each step as the exciting is switched, and a printing drum 3 is rotated by the angle theta in a fixed direction. Now, if a certain row of printing dots is situated opposite to a printing hammer 19, the next row of printing dots becomes opposite to the printing hammer 19 when the pulse motor 5 is rotated by one step. Therefore, no controlling unit is necessary for detecting the revolution position of a printing drum and setting printing dots at fixed position opposite to a printing hammer, thus leaving out a revolution-position detector or other controlling circuit to simplify the circuit composition.
