Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a printer, wherein a cam surface of a rotational cam is formed into a curved convex shape all over the cam surface to effect stabilized reciprocative movement of a carrier so that high speed printing becomes possible. CONSTITUTION:Both of a printing table drum 3 and a cam 12 are rotated synchronously by one motor 5. At every time when the drum 3 rotates by a degree of theta, each dot 18 at the printing place is positioned with its position displaced axially of the drum by a distance a, while when the drum 3 rotates by a dgree of theta, a carrier 13 is also displaced by a distance of a in the direction of the displacement of the dot 18, thus a center of a hammer 19 is always positioned at the dot 18 at the printing place, and the center portion of the hammer 19 can hit the printing dot 18. Therefore the hammer 19 can receive the load at the center portion thereof without fail, the life span thereof is prolonged, the remaining portion other than the center portion of the hammer becomes unnecessary, and the hammer can become compact to facilitate high speed operation of the printer.
