Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain highly accurate low-brightness plane by combining two rectangular plates having a normal reflection surface with the mirror surfaces being opposed one another. CONSTITUTION:Rectangular plates 1 and 2 have mirror surfaces 1a and 1b, respectively. The vertical angle theta which is formed by combining the plates in a lambda shape is less than 90 deg.. The outside portions of the open sides of the rectangular plates 1 and 2 are cut out along the planes 1b and 2b, which are in parallel with the bisector of the vertical angle theta, or are equally inclined to the direction of the parallel plane, and the open ends of the rectangular plates 1 and 2 form sharp edges 1c and 2c. A fine gap 3 is provided at the portion where the rectangular plates 1 and 2 approach in order to pass the light which is reflected by the mirror surfaces 1a and 2a. The light through the fine gap 3 is absorbed by a light absorbing plane 4a. The plane between the sharp edge 1c and 2c of the rectangular plates 1 and 2 is a low-brightness plane 5.
