Abstract
PURPOSE: To exactly fit the metallic lid to the vessel opening and seal it up tightly by performing plastic working from two directions with external claw group and the internal claw group after tightening the return part of the metallic lid to be placed on the curled part which is at the upper part of the vessel opening wall, from the outside.
CONSTITUTION: In case the metallic lid is fitted to the opening of the vessel such as a can, etc., to the metallic lid 4 is mounted the return part 5 to be placed on the curled part 3 which is at the upper part of the vessel opening wall 2. It is tightened from the outside so as to go along with the external lower half of the curled part 3. At the same time the external claw group 25 and the internal claw group 27 are arranged in the shape of a ring so that the circumferential part 6 of the metallic lid 4 can be expanded. The metallic lid 4 is fitted exactly to the vessel opening by performing plastic working from two directions by means of the aforesaid internal and external claw groups. Also, it is tightened strongly so that the sealing function of the sealing compound 7 between the metallic lid 4 and the vessel opening cannot be varied.
