Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide an electric water heater in use of latent heat, in which a multiplex water tank is formed at the central portion of the heater and a multiplex layer filled with paraffin or the like is formed around said multiplex water tank, so as to make the structure of heater compact, to reduce heat loss and to improve hot-water supplying capacity.
CONSTITUTION: In inner frame 1, a multiplex water tank consisting of layer A, layer B..., and center tank N is formed by means of center frame 2 and partition plate 3 made of heat-insulating material. Between inner frame 1 and outer wall 4 surrounding the inner frame 1, there is formed a multiplex layer consisting of layer M1, M2 and so forth by means of partition plate 5 and filler material 6 such as paraffin is filled in these layers such that its transition temperature is higher toward the outside, i.e., M1>M2>...>MN. Water supply tubes 8 are embedded sequentially from the outside in the manner opening in layer A, and connected to the center tank by means of tube 22 or the like. At a lower portion of the water tank, there is provided a heating chamber 10 incorporating heater 9 with a suitable spacing from the bottom of layer A. Top of the heating chamber 10 is opened in tank N and covered with a cap. With such an arrangement, temperature gradient to the outside is lowered so that it is enabled to keep high temperature in the center tank and to reduce spontaneous heat loss.
