Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable an inverter to detect an overvoltage before the output voltage of the inverter exerts a bad influence on a load, by rectifying and integrating the output voltage of the inverter and by comparing it with a reference voltage.
CONSTITUTION: The output voltage waveform of the inverter is converted by transformer 100 into a control voltage, which is rectified by a diode and integrated by capacitor C141. Then, the voltage of C141 is held for the time with is decided by monostable multivibrator 163 triggered at a fall of the output voltage waveform, and is reset by a circuit including a comparator circuit 161 in a zero-period of the output voltage waveform. Further the voltage of C141 is supplied to comparator circuit 162 and the overvoltage signal is outputted when it is larger than a reference voltage. Therefore, the overvoltage is detected at a high speed without reference to the phase of a sine wave.
