Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a unit which is under influence of neither a machine mark nor accuracy of structure by providing a beam fixed to the Roberval's parallel motion mechanism formed integrally in a parallelogram and by detecting and measuring shearing force generated in this beam.
CONSTITUTION: Parallelogrammic Roberval's parallel motion mechanism 6 is formed of fixed piece 2, movable piece 3, and arms 4 and 5 while beam 10 thinner than pieces 2 and 3 is integrally formed in parallel between pieces 2 and 3. To surface 11, four gauges 12 slanting by 45° so that the center of each guage 12 will agree with center line (ϕ) are stuck away from the center of this beam to the right and left by an equal distance. A bridge circuit is formed of these four converting elements to measure load 8, and consequently shearing force generated in beam 10 can be measured under no influence of turning moment, so that even if strain gauge 12 would not be positioned accurately, the accurate measurement can be made.
