Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to drive stably a magnetic bubble domain element at a high speed with a wide transfer margin, by arranging contiguous patterns over the (110) film of magnetic garnet.
CONSTITUTION: On a substrate of neodymium gallium garnet or the like, a garnet [110] film magnetized perpendicularly to the film surface is formed as a 1st layer. Next, a garnet film magnetized in parallel to the film surface is also formed as a 2nd film. On the surface of the 2nd garnet layer, a photo resist pattern is formed and ions are injected only into the pattern part so that the magnetization will be perpendicular to the film surface while the magnetization of the 2nd layer outside of the pattern part is in parallel to the film surface. In this way, the longish direction of contiguous patterns connecting in the diagonal direction is made to agree with <001> of [110] and magnetic bubble domains are transferred at a high speed by a low-drive magnetic field with little malfunction according to a charged wall generated at pattern vertexes 10 and 11.
