Abstract
A method of joining together at least two silicon carbide elements. e.g. in forming a heat exchanger, comprises subjecting to sufficiently non-oxidizing atmosphere and sufficiently high temperature, material placed in space between said element, said material comprising silicon carbide particles, carbon and/or a precursor of carbon, and silicon, such that said material forms a joint joining together said at least two silicon carbide elements. At least one of the elements may contain silicon.
