Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable the diameter of an exhaust port of a mount for a fluorescent lamp tube to be formed larger than ever to improve the degree of vacuum of the lamp obtained by constituting method for producing the mount such that an exhaust pipe and leading-in wires are inserted into a cylindrical section of a flare and then the cylindrical section is heated to weld the exhaust pipe and the leading-in wires to the flare without any deformation of the exhaust pipe.
CONSTITUTION: An exhaust pipe 9 made of glass and leading-in wires 10 are inserted into a cylindrical section 8 of a flare 7 made of glass and having an inner diameter a little larger than the outer diameter of the exhaust pipe 9, and then the cylindrical section 8 is heated around the whole periphery thereof with a burner 11 to thereby weld the exhaust pipe 9 and the leading-in wires 10 to the flare 7 without any deformation of the exhaust pipe 9 to seal the cylindrical section 8 and to fix the leading-in wires 10 to the weld section. Each leading-in wire 10 consists of a copper wire portion 10a located on the open side of the flare 7, a Dumet wire portion 10b located in the weld section, and a nickel wire portion 10c located outside the cylindrical section 8. Such constitution of the mount for the fluorescent lamp tube thus allows the diameter of the exhaust port of the fluorescent lamp tube to be formed larger than ever whereby the degree of vacuum of the lamp can be improved greatly and enclosing of mercury into the lamp can be also facilitated.
