Abstract
PURPOSE: To shorten the measuring time and to improve the efficiency in design and adjustment by feeding carrier wave depressing both side band amplitude modulating signal having large amplitudes to the input terminal of a device to be measured thereby to directly measure the nonlinear distorsion.
CONSTITUTION: The signals from a sweeping signal generator 1 are fed to a carrier wave depressing both side band anplitude modulator 2 thereby to produce sweeping signals. The signals by a differential signal generator 3 are applied to a single band amplitude modulator 4 thereby to produce differential signals. Those two output waves thus produced are composed and fed to a device 5 to be measured, the output of which is branched and fed to a signals band demodulator 6 and a sweeping signal demodulator 9. The differential signals are demodulated by the demodulator 6. The AM distorsion component and the PM distorsion component are detected in the vicinity of the differential signals at an amplitude detector 7 and a phase detector 8 and fed to the vertical axis of a direct monitor 10. On the other hand, the sweeping signals demodulated by the demodulator 9 are fed to the horizontal axis of the monitor 10. Thus, since the nonlinear distorsion can be directly read out, it is possible to shorten the measuring time and to improve the efficiency in design and adjustement.
