Abstract

PURPOSE: To try thermal efficiency and lowering price, installing a water jet evaporative cooler between a high pressure compressor and a low pressure compressor, ejecting water in the compressed air from the low pressure compressor, by cooling directly its compressed air.
CONSTITUTION: In a gas turbine equipment provided with a low pressure compressor 1, a high pressure compressor 3, combustor 4, high pressure trubine 5, an intermediate pressure turbine 5, a combustor 6, a low pressure turbine and a generator 8, a direct contact type evaporative cooler 2 due to high pressure water injection is arranged between the outlet of above low pressure compressor 1 and an inlet of the high pressure compressor 3. New, taking a compression ratio of 5.5 in accordance with ISO standard for inlet atmosphere of the low pressure compressor 1, the inlet of above cooler 2 is at approx. 225°C, when the air is lowered at approx. 70°C by water jet cooling, being nearly in a weight percentage of 6% to water and evaporation and air flow to decrease the specific heat ratio. Consequently increasing of pressure ratio per air flow can be actualized in the high pressure system, overall efficiency can be improved.
