Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the fluctuation in the speed of a DC motor due to that in a load or the like, by connecting a transistor in series with a capacitor for turning on an energization control thyristor and by controlling the transistor depending on the difference between the voltage of the motor and a speed reference voltage.
CONSTITUTION: A switch 31 is set on a contact (a) to select a continuous sewing mode. A controller 5 is then depressed to close a switch 24 to supply the base of the transistor 38 with the speed reference voltage corresponding to the resistance of a variable resistor 25. The voltage of the motor is applied as an inverse voltage to the base of the transistor 38 through a Zener diode 58. The transistor 38 is controlled depending on the difference between the motor voltage and the speed reference voltage to regulate the charging current of the capacitor 33. As a result, the turn-on phase angle of the thyristor 3 is controlled to regulate the speed of the motor 4. When the switch 31 is set on another contact (b), one-stitch sewing can be performed.
