Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a reinforced rubber composition useful for tire, etc. and having excellent tear strength, flex cracking resistance and modulus, by mixing the slurry of a syndiotactic 1,2-polybutadiene having high melting point with a rubber solution.
CONSTITUTION: (A) 3W40 parts by weight of 1W15wt.% slurry of high melting point syndiotactic 1, 2-polybutadiene having a melting point of ≥180°C and reduced viscosity (0.2g/100cc tetralin solution, 135°C) of 0.5W4 and prepared by polymerizing 1, 3-butadiene in an organic solvent (e.g. benzene, etc.) in the presence of a 1, 2-polymerization catalyst (e.g. used in Japanese Patent Publication No.47- 19892, etc.) and thereafter deactivating the product e.g. with blowing hydrogen chloride gas, is mixed with (B) 97W60 parts by weight of 1W20wt.% rubber solution at 10W70°C under stirring. The unreacted 1, 3-butadiene and the organic solvent are distilled off by the steam distillation of the mixture solution to give a solid mixture.
