Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the safety against oxygen starvation through partial absorption and oxidation of the high velocity combustion gas by passing thereof through a heated catalyst before a feed gas with a high combustion speed is injected from a flame port. CONSTITUTION:A ceramic body impregnated with platimum or a ring-shaped ceramic body is securely inserted into a pilot pipe 1 made of brass or other metal at a position close to the tip flame port 2. After injected from a nozzle 4, the feed gas is sucked from the primary air port 5, pass through the ceramic body 3 mixed with the primary air and then, injected from the port 2. Since the ceramic body is left at a low temperature, immediately after the ignition, the gas passes as intact and burned at the port 2. In time, the combustion heat is transmitted to the ceramic body through the pilot pipe 1. When it is heated up to 100 deg.C or so, the passing gas is oxidized by the catalyst and reformed to a gas low in the combustion speed so that it can be burned normally.
