Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase gripping charactor of a pile when buried by providing at a lower portion of the tubular pile with a hollow and tubular treading portion fixedly connected thereto.
CONSTITUTION: A pile 12, consisting of a steel pipe, steel-reinforced concrete tube or a steel tube lined with concrete, is provided at a lower portion thereof with a steel pipe 16, having same diameter, fixedly connected thereto, having a flange 20 projecting inwardly in radial direction thereof and provided with a continuous spiral steel blade 18 around the outer periphery thereof by welding. When the pile is consisting of steel pipe, the flange 20 may be welded to the steel pipe portion, however, when the pile is consisting of a steel reinforced concrete tube, reinforcing steel bars for connection are exposedly projected and connected to the flange 20. The pile, thus obtained, is inserted into a hole 22 digged under ground and concrete 24 is filled within the bottom portion of the hole, thereafter, a treading portion 14 is burried into it. The spiral blade is provided at the treading portion, therefore, in case the pile is buried simply into ground layers, a sure gripping character may be obtained.
