Abstract
PURPOSE: To rotate a system consisting of a step motor and a gear train quietly, without vibrations in the step motor, by driving the step motor with a waveform whose rise time and fall time are slow, instead of a rectangular wave.
CONSTITUTION: A pulse train sent from car-speed sensor 1 is processed by 4-phase signal generator 2 and converted, via integrator 3, into a signal waveform whose rise time and fall time are not sharp. Each phase of the output of integrtor 3 is connected to each phase winding, 4a to 4d of step motor 4. The shaft of step motor 4 is connected to gear train 5, and gear train 5 is connected to numerical gear 6. Hence, numerical gear 6 is rotated by the rotation of pulse motor 4, and thus the travel distance is displayed.
