PURPOSE:To eliminate rapid change in S/N, by changing the stereo separation in response to the change in the antenna input level. CONSTITUTION:The antenna 101 is connected to the front end 102, the output is input to the first IF amplifier 103a, the output is fed to the second IF amplifier 103b and the rectifier 107, the output of the second IF amplifier is connected to the detector 104, the detected output is fed to the multiplex demodulator 105, and it is outputted as the stereo audio signal to the output terminals 106a and 106b of the demodulator 105. Further, a part of the output of the first IF amplifier 103a is rectified with the rectifier 107 to convert in into DC voltage, and this DC voltage is fed to the level control terminal 108 of the subcarrier of the demodulator 105. This DC voltage controls the level of subcarrier and demodulates the composite signal. Thus, the stereo receiver removing rapid change in S/N can be established.
