Abstract

PURPOSE: To avoid stress concentration due to touch with a rolling element by forming a crowning in the relief edge of raceway surfaces of a bearing's outer and inner ring with plastic processing such as the roller processing method.
CONSTITUTION: A crowning 3 having a certain degree to a raceway surface 2 shall be formed in the relief edge of the raceway surface 2 of a bearing's outer or inner ring 1 by plastic deformation in order to avoid stress concentration due to touch with a rolling element 4. In order to process this crowning 3, a piston rod 6 shall be extended by an acting cylinder 5 and a processing roller 10 mounted on the roller supporting part 7 provided at the tip shall be pressed with the decided pressure against the relief edge of the raceway surface 2 of the bearing's inner ring 1 which is revolving.
