Abstract

PURPOSE: To easily produce lubricating sintered alloy containing solid lubricant, by dipping porous sintered alloy in a volatile liquid in which is suspended powder solid lubricant, and removing the volatile liquid by evaporating.
CONSTITUTION: Metal powder is pressurized and formed, and sintered to produce porous sintered alloy a. This sintered alloy a is put in an impregnation container 1, while a volatile liquid b suspending powder of solid lubricant such as MoS2, WS2, and graphite is put in a liquid container 2. The two containers 1, 2 are connected by a pipe 3 having a valve 4. The two ontaininers 1, 2 are evacuated by a vacuum pump 6 until reaching the degree of vacuum of about 10-2 Torr. Then, by gradually opening the valve 4, the suspension b in the container 2 is moved into the container 1 to dip the sintered metal a in the suspension b.
