Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize protection of the transmitter with no deterioration of the characteristics as well as detection of the antenna fault by connecting the power detection circuit in parallel to the terminal unit of the circulator-type isolator. CONSTITUTION:The electric wave transmitted from transmitter 1 is radiated from antenna 5 through circuflator 6; while the reflected wave from the antenna is absorbed to terminal unit 7 through circulator 6 and at the same time detected at power detection circuit 4 connected in parallel to unit 7. Thus the nonreversible action of circulator 6 is utilized aling with the parallel connection of circuit 4 to unit 7, and thus the directional coupler can be omitted unlike the conventional case. As a result, the transmitter can be well protected, at the same time detecting the fault of the antenna through detection of the reflected wave.
