Abstract

PURPOSE: To shorten the switching time of transistors, by supplying an optimal inversely-biasing current from a stable DC power source.
CONSTITUTION: Driving transformers 31, 32, current limiting resistors 21, 22 and inverter transistors 11, 12 are connected in series with one another. Series circuits consisting of auxiliary transistors 61, 62 and DC power sources 101, 102 for inversely biasing the transistors 11, 12 are connected in parallel with the bases and emitters of the transistors 11, 12. Voltage dividing resistors 71, 72 are connected between the bases of the auxiliary transistors and the terminals of the current limiting resistors 21, 22 coupled to the secondary terminals of the driving transformers 31, 32. Voltage dividing resistors 81, 82 are coupled across the bases and collectors of the auxiliary transistors. Inversely biasing currents of steep rising property are supplied to the inverter transistors to turn them off. The more steeply the inversely biasing currents rise, the more the switching time of the inverter transistors is shortened. Therefore, the switching loss is reduced and the minimum turn-on time is reduced.
