Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a continuous casting machine wherein injection nozzles and a slat in the vicinity of the proximal ends thereof are slightly varied based on a detection signal of a gap between the injection nozzle and a mold forming conveyor thereby to prevent the damages of parts due to the molten metal penetration and contact. CONSTITUTION:A double-acting cylinder 6 fitted to a upper frame 7 is driven to clamp the slat 20 of left and right conveyors 3 and 4 from the upper and lower parts by means of slats 11 of upper and lower conveyors 1 and 2 thereby to form a mold space. While advancing the conveyors 1 through 4 in synchronim with each other, molten metal is injected 26 in said space, and is cooled thereby to manufacture continuously cast pieces C. In this manufacturing step, there is a case where the required gap cannot be maintained between the slat 11 and the nozzle 26 by the deformation of the slat 11, and heating deformation of the nozzle 26 itself. In this case, a double-acting cylinder 36 is operated by the signals generated from upper and lower sensers 29 and 30 to slightly displace the nozzle 26 vertically, and further by operating a double-acting cylinder 14 to apply pressure on the central part of the slat 11 to deflect vertically thereby to maintain the required gap.
