Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to detect a zero magnetic field or a weak magnetic field by using a SQUID (Superconducting Qauntum Interference Devices) magnetic flux meter.
CONSTITUTION: A SQUID device SQ is equipped with a superconducting ring 10 having a Josephson connection 11 at its one point, and a coil 12 is inductively coupled to the ring 10 and connected in parallel with a capacitor 13 thereby to constitute an IC tank circuit 4. This circuit 4 receives the power from a high frequency power source 16 of the SQM electric circuit unit Mt of the magnetic flux meter so that it becomes resonant therewith. An input coil 15 is also inductively coupled to the ring 10 so that the electrostatic current searched by a magnetic flux search coil 5 in a low temperature bath LY is introduced into the input coil 15 to apply the magnetic flux due to the current flowing through the coil 15 to the ring 10. The search coil 5 is inductively coupled to an area varying ring 1 so that a magnetic flux proportional to a variation in the flux, if any, is generated in the coil 5. As a result, the superconducting ring 10 is operated to effect addition to the ϕ m.
