Abstract

PURPOSE: To balance the liq. pressures of concentrating and diluting chambers at a low flow rate so as to increase utilization ratio of raw water, by making the thickness of the concentrating chamber smaller than that of the diluting chamber, and by making the press. loss due to spacers in the concentrating chamber larger than that due to the spacers in the diluting chamber.
CONSTITUTION: The ratio of the thickness of the concentrating chamber to the thickness of the diluting chamber is set at 1/5W1 by changing the thickness of the chamber frame itself. The press. loss due to the concentrating chamber spacer is set larger than that due to the diluting chamber spacer by use of a net of 3W25 mesh as the concentrating chamber spacer and the diluting chamber spacer. Hereby, the balance between the liq. pressure of both chambers are kept constantly even if the dialyzer is operated at a flow rate of concentrated soln. smaller than that of diluted soln., so that formation of scale in the concentrating chamber is prevented.
