Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a method of the production of spherical surface bearing of automatic alignment type, wherein after a very thin resin coating has been formed on a convex spherical outer surface of an inner wheel, melt resin is filled into the gap between the inner and outer rings, and after it has cured, the coating on the convex spherical outer surface of the inner wheel is removed to form a desired slide engaging gap easily.
CONSTITUTION: A very thin resin coating is formed on a convex spherical outer surface 1' of an inner wheel 1 by spraying or the like, and then a releaser is applied thereon. Then the inner wheel 1 is introduced together with an outer ring 2 into a mold C and molten synthetic resin added with an inorganic filler is filled into the gap 4 through an injection port D. After it has cooled and solidified it is removed from the mold C and then the coating on the convex spherical outer surface 1' of the inner wheel 1 is peeled off. By chosing the thickness of the coating, a bearing having a desired slide engaging gap will be obtained.
