Abstract

PURPOSE: Windmil speed control device is performed by a brake plate which is automatically expanding according to windmill revolution increase, effecting brake action due to its air resistance, whereby the brake plate is singly used or used with pitch angle control.
CONSTITUTION: Windmil 3 revolution generates a centrifugal force F on the brake plate 5. The centrifugal force F is devided into components FA vertical and FB parallel to the face 5a of the brake plate 5. When the windmill 3 revolution is less than the specified value, F is small, and the component FA is smaller than the force of the spring 7. Thus, the brake plate 5 is kept in folded position, with no air resistance force applying to the face 5a. When the windmill revolution exceeds the specified value, the component force Fa increases with the centrifugal force F to become greater than the force of the spring 7 and the brake plate 5 rotates.
