Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the subject recorder wherein the vibration of a compacting machine is detected and recorded in acceleration thereby to obtain only energy consumed by the compaction of sand, and further the value obtained is converted into N value, thereby making it possible to obtain accurately the compacting state of sand column.
CONSTITUTION: The vibration of a vibrator 3 of a compacting machine 1 is detected as a variation of voltage by a vibration acceleration detector 7, and recorded in a recorder 9. The vibromotive force of the vibrator 3 is represented by the product of the weight of the compacting machine 1 and the vibration acceleration thereof. Here, the compacting machine 1 is blindly hit in the air and the acceleration α1 upon this occasion is recorded. Then, the compacting machine 1 is penetrated through the gound, and the acceleration α2 upon this occasion is recorded. Thereafter, sand is supplied, while being weighed, into the steel pipe 5 of the compacting machine 1 to effect the compaction, and the acceleration a3 upon this occasion is recorded. It is possible to obtain energy consumed for the compaction of sand from the difference between the above described accelerations (α23).
