Abstract

PURPOSE: To accomplish an efficient formation of the sand pile by selectively fixing internal and external casings and vibtating device through an air spring in the preparation of the sand pile into the poor subsoil.
CONSTITUTION: A vibrating device 2 is fixed at the upper end of an inner casing 4 in such a manner as to be free to lift along the guide 11 fixed at the upper end of the outer casing, while an air cushion 3 is interposed between the top end of the outer casing 1 and the undersurface of the vibrating device 2. Therefore, bleeding air from the air spring 3 makes the outer casing 1 free from the vibrating device 2. With air pressed into the air spring 3, the vibrating device 2 is actuated to charge sand into the outer casing 1 from a hopper 16 after it is driven into the subsoil. Then, when the vibrating device 2 is acturated with the bleeding of air from the air cushion 3, the sand charged from the inner casing 4 is compacted. To accomplish continuous compaction of sand, it is done so pulling out the outer casing 1.
