Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture a high-density homogeneous bonded cork piece with high efficiency, by mixing cork grains with a blending liquid and a powdery bonding agent of a substance such as synthetic resin and injecton-molding the mixture. CONSTITUTION:In a first process, the cork grains are mixed with the blending liquid and the bonding powder of grain size smaller than 100 mesh. The blending liquid is made from vegetable, animal or mineral. It is preferable that the blending liquid is evaporated or burned away after the injection molding. The bonding agent is made from synthetic resin such as polypropylene, synthetic rubber, nylon or the like. The cork grains are coated with the bonding powder mixed with the blending liquid. In a second process, the mixture is injection-molded. The bonded cork piece is thus manufactured.
