Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a four-way electromagnetic valve, in which three spools are used in a set for enabling to stop supply of air at an intermediate position of the stroke, whereby it is enabled to lower consumption of air and to save energy for operating the system.
CONSTITUTION: The electromagnetic valve of this invention comprises a set of three spools, i,e., a right outer spool 2, left outer spool 2' and middle spool 3. Here, if right-side solenoid is energized, right outer spool 2 is pushed and shifted to the left by the solenoid. Resultantly, middle spool 3 is pushed and shifted also to the left by the spool 2, and it is self-maintained at the position by left-side permanent magnet 4'. Therefore, air is supplied through the passage from IN to OUT1 shown in the drawing, whereas it is exhausted from OUT2 to EXH. If the right-side solenoid is de- energized at an intermediate position of the stroke, spool 2 is shifted to the right by the force of right-side spring 5 and interrupt communication between IN and OUT1. Thus, supply of air is interrupted while keeping continuous exhausting of air. Therefore, it is enabled to reduce consumption of air and to save energy for operating the system.
