Abstract
PURPOSE: The titled sewage treating apparatus which can be easily manufactured, is free from the disassembly, and can be driven by a small power cost, by making the air cups buried along the outer circumference of the rotary contactor assembly so as to be an inverse wedge type expanding toward the center shaft.
CONSTITUTION: The sewage is introduced from the sewage inlet 5, and approximate lower half part of the contactor assembly 1 is soaked in the sewage. The treated sewage overflows the weir 6 and flows out through the effluent pipe 7. In the apparatus, the air cups 8 with the bottom expanded into a form of an inverse wedge are attached to the outer circumference of the contactor assembly 1 so as to face the open mouth outward. The partition 10 of each room of the air cups 8 is arranged parallelly to the side plane 11. Meanwhile, the air diffuser nozzles 17 are arranged so as to slightly offset clockwise from the point just under the contactor assembly 1; as a result, the injected air forming floating air bubbles easily fills up the inclined room 12 with the gas generating a buoyancy which clockwise rotates the contactor assembly 1. The gas also enters the room 15 through the hole 14 and helps the rotation.
