Abstract

PURPOSE: To convert the BCD signal in real number into binary signal by using ROM's as the hardware.
CONSTITUTION: The input BCD signal consists of the code section 1 and the BCD signals BCD1 to BCD5 indicated in the numeric sections 2 to 6. The BCD signals BCD1 to BCD3 representing the integer sections are converted at the BCD/binary conversion circuit 7 well known into the absolute binary signals X8 to X17 in the integer section. The BCD signals BCD4 and BCD5 representing the fraction section are given to the ROM 8 taking the BCD signals as the address and are read out as the absolute value binary signals X0 to X7, which are outputted via the circuit 8 outputting the binary numbers b0 to b18 including the well known sign.
