Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the life of a water quality sensor long and reduce exchange frequency by using a correcting liquid to detect the deterioration of the characteristic of the water quality sensor and correcting the deterioration by an electronic circuit.
CONSTITUTION: Dirt stuck to normal measuring water quality sensor 12 is washed away by a washing liquid. Then, in respect to the characteristic deterioration of the sensor which is not restored by washing, a zero correcting liquid and a span correcting liquid are given to correcting water quality sensor 23 and normal measuring sensor 12 under the same condition to perform measurement. Signals e1 and e2 obtained by respective sensors are used to obtain a zero point drift by, for example, correcting electronic circuit 30, and further, span adjustment is performed. Consequently, the trouble-some to exchange normal measuring water quality sensor 12 for very characteristic deterioration can be avoided, and the life of sensor 12 can be made long.
