Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve weld strength and enable welding to be performed with ease by electron-beam-welding a blade tip portion to the body portion of the bit. CONSTITUTION:The separated body portion 1 and blade tip portion 2 are admitted into the working chamber of an electron beam welding device, after which both are contacted and are electron-beam-welded along the weld line 3. Depending upon cases, the portion 5 of the blade formed of bearing steel and the support part 6 formed of tough and hard steel are electron-beam-welded along the weld line 7, thence the support part 6 and body 1 are electron-beam-welded along the weld line 8, whereby the bit is obtained.
