Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent co-rotating phenomenon of sludge and lower the water contents of dehydrated cake by providing a co-rotating preventing body within screw grooves and connecting the same to the control body provided to the beginning end of the screw flights. CONSTITUTION:A containing part 9 is provided at a right angle to screw flights 4 between a sludge hopper 2 and a dehydrated cake discharge port 6 and a co-rotating preventing body 8 is installed therein. The co-rotating preventing body 8 and the control body 7 provided in the screw grooves in the sludge hopper 2 are connected by means of a connecting bar 12 having a fulcrum 10. The beginning end of the screw flights 4 on the sludge feed port 1 side is gradually increased of height to push up the control body 7 and let it drop onto the screw stem 5 by detaching from the screw flight 4, thereby producing vertical motion. This motion is transmitted to the co-rotating preventing body 8 so that when the screw flights 4 approach to the preventing body 8 the preventing body 8 is pulled out and when the flights 4 pass the position of the preventing body 8 the preventing body is inserted into the screw groove. Thereby, the co-rotating phenomenon of the screw stem 5 and sludge is prevented and the sludge is semi-forcefully squeezed and dehydrated.
