Abstract
PURPOSE: A flame-retardant hydraulic oil composition that is composed of an ester from trimethylolpropane and a specifically composed straight chain fatty acid, thus being stable at elevated temperatures, and capable by being stably used in continuous casting or mat gun for long periods of time.
CONSTITUTION: Said composition is composed of esters from trimethylolpropane and straight chain fatty acid of the formula (R is alkyl or alkenyl) where the straight fatty acids contains 35W50wt%, based on the total fatty acids, of lauric and myristic acids in total and the total amount of unsaturated fatty acids is 40W 50wt% on the basis of the total fatty acids or (B) the sum of capric and lauric acids is 40W 50wt% of the total fatty acids and the total of unsaturated acid is 30W40wt% of the total.
EFFECT: The inflammable point of the composition is over 310°C and the composition is stable even when exposed to such high temperature because of its freeness from oxidation and formation of high vescosity substance and high flowability. The pour point is lower than -10°C.
