Abstract

PURPOSE:To raise the efficiency of stirring by producing the ascending flow of liquid by providing a stirring apparatus consisting of rotary blades and a driving gear by which a descending flow of liquid is produced to lift up sludge and then the rotary blades are rotated reversely. CONSTITUTION:When the underwater motor 5 is operated, the impeller 42 is rotated and the supernatant 3 is flowed in the direction of the arrow 11. The supernatant 3 sucked into the casing 41 collids with the sludge layer 2 in the form of a descending flow to cut and lift up the sludge layer 2. After the sludge layer 2 is completely cut off, the underwater motor 5 is rotated reversely to rotate reversely the rotating direction of the impeller 42, whereupon the supernatant 3 containing sludge is changed into ascending flow and thereby sludge inside the sludge inside the sludge storage layer 1 is stirred.
