Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the quantity of wind, by augmenting the effective area of each vane without increasing its thickness in the axial direction of a driving shaft.
CONSTITUTION: A centrifugal blower 10 comprises a motor 11, a blowing unit 15 mounted on the driving shaft 14 of the motor, and a fan casing 13 which controls the discharge direction of air driven by the vanes 16 of the blowing unit 15. The outside diameter D1 of a support portion 17, which supports the vanes 16 and has a first and a second hat-shaped sections 19, 21, is made smaller than the maximum outside diameter D2 of the other members including the vanes 16. The effective area of each vane 16 is thus increased. As a result, the quantity of wind is augmented without increasing the outside diameter of the blowing unit.
