Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent damages on falling potatoes by providing a first conveyor frame adjustable in angle relative to a hopper and a second conveyor frame adjustable in angle relative to the former frame.
CONSTITUTION: Potatoes 9 are fed into a hopper 4 via a classification table 3 and transferred into a container 8 or the like through an elevation conveyor 1. On a conveyor element 7, the potatoes 9 are seated on conveyor rods 7A and move while pushed by the back portion of buckets C. In falling step, the potatoes 9 move down to the lower end of the conveyor while received by the buckets C and then discharged by the buckets C at the lowest end. The height of the conveyors relative to the container 8 is adjusted by adjustment of the angles of the conveyors, so that the damage on the potatoes 9 is reduced.
