Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the workability of a cold pressure connecting process by strongly pressing the periphery of the superimposed portion at through hole portion of foil aluminum sheets to thereby cold pressure connect the sheets.
CONSTITUTION: An upper die 10a has cross needle-like projection cutter 11 of different length, and a lower die 10b has a recess 12 to be engaged with the cutter 11 oppositely to the cutter 11. A superimposed portion of sandwiched lead conductors 1 and an aluminum sheet 2 is inserted between the upper and the lower dies 10a and 10b, and pressed therebetween to thereby form through hole 20 through the superimposed portion. The peripheral superimposed portion of the hole 20 is perliminarily pressed between the flat portions 10c and 10d of the upper and lower dies to thereby form a cross section from which an oxide film is removed at the side wall 20a of the hole 20. this superimposed portion is then inserted between the projections 30a and 31b of cold pressure connecting upper and lower dies 30 and 31 having larger cross sectional area than that of the cutter 11, and pressed therebetween to thereby form pressure connected surface 20b from which oxide film is removed and at which the superimposed portion is rigidly connected.
