Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an organic electrolyte cell having a high deterioration resistance to repeated charge and discharge cycles by using an oxide, etc., capable of forming insoluble compounds when reacted with alkali metals in an electrolyte as an active material for both negative electrode and positive electrode. CONSTITUTION:An oxide, etc., which formed an insoluble reaction product from reaction with alkali metals in an electrolyte is used as negative electrode active material, and also an oxide, etc., which is capable of forming an insoluble compound of a higher grade than the negative electrode active material is used as a positive electrode active material. For example, the positive electrode 1, obtained by molding a mixture of MnO2, graphite, and PTFE binder, and the negative electrode 2, obtained by molding a mixture of a negative electrode active material (2Cu+Li2O presumably), obtained from the electrolytic reduction of Cu2O in a propylene carbonate solution of lithium perchlorate, and PTFE binder, are set in a mutually facing manner through a separator in an organic electrolyte to form a button type cell.
