Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled device which the impact energy of a wire is little and the quality of printing is excellent by a method wherein liquid ink is directly attached to a tip portion of the wire, only a solvent is supplied at all times when the device is left as it is, and the concentration of ink in an ink reservoir is kept constant. CONSTITUTION:Ink is attached to a tip portion of a wire 401 by the surface tension and a capillary phenomenon of an ink reservoir 403 in fibrous or porous substance. When a printer prints, a wire dot head moves left and right, and a change-over valve 405 brings an ink tank 407 and the ink reservoir 403 to a communicating condition by means of a spring 410. When the printer does not print and is left as it is, the change-over valve 405 is changed over by means of a stopper 412, a solvent tank 409 is communicated with the ink reservoir 403, and only a solvent is fed to the ink reservoir 403 to supply an evaporating portion of the solvent.
