Abstract
PURPOSE:To make the distribution of the strength of the magnetic fields extremely uniform by enclosing magnetic powder in a compressing chamber, applying the radial magnetic fields between a yoke and the compressing chamber, and compressing the powder body. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic powder body 11 is put in a metal mold 12. A through hole 13 is provided in a shaft. The magnetic body 11 is formed by compressing with a punch 15 which is inserted in a yoke 14 is put in said through hole. The magnetic fields indicated by the arrows are formed by coils 16 and 17, which are wound around the upper and lower portions of the metal mold 12, separately, in the compressing process. Since said magnetic fields are formed in the radial direction from the shaft of the magnet formed in a cylindrical shape, the magnet having anisotropic property in this direction can be obtained. In the case the magnet obtained in this way is employed, for example, as the field system of a motor, very uniform distribution of the magnetic fields can be obtained.
