Abstract

PURPOSE: To detect leakage of kinds of oil into cooling water of a thermal exchange using, for example, cooling water in the initial stage without distinction of liquid and gas, by separating, storing and detecting leaked fluid gathered by a specific means.
CONSTITUTION: When gas is leaked from thermal exchange 9, most of leaked gas is stopped by gathering orifice 17 and is led into detector main body 1 together with cooling water from sample extracting tube 18 through valve 14. Gas is separated by partition plate 5 and is emitted from ventilator 3 to air and so on, and only cooling water is discharged from outlet 4. Since ventilating orifice 8 is very smaller than inlet orifice 7, leaked gas cannot be exhausted partially from ventilator 3 and is stored in the upper part of room A in the inlet side and becomes air pressure or more to lower the water level in room A. When lowering of the water level is detected by level detector 6 to issue a signal, leakage accidents of thermal exchange 9 can be reported.
