Abstract

PURPOSE: To measure the temp. of liquid with good accuracy without increasing flow passage resistance by installing a barlike temperature sensing element coaxially to the center of the swirling flow in a gas-liquid separating tank.
CONSTITUTION: A gas-liquid separating tank 11 of a circular shape in section has an inflow port 12 and an outflow port 13 opening in a tangential direction, and is opened with a gas escape port 14 at its top wall; said escape port 11 is opened and closed by a float valve 15 moved vertically by the liquid level in the tank 11. A barlike temperature sensing element 10 is provided to the central axis of the tank 11, freely removably from an insertion port 1a. The temp. detected by this is transmitted to the temp. compensator of a flowmeter connected to the outflow port 13 side. In this gas-liquid separator, the formation of air layers in the central parts is prevented despite increasing the vigorousness of the swirling flow and this improves separation efficiency; in addition, accurate temp. detection is performed because the flow of fluid around the element 10 is fast.
