Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to effectively and uniformly cool a furnace wall to extend the useful life of a blast furnace by a method wherein, to the max. damaged zone of a furnace wall positioned above a tuyere, plural copper cooling means are arranged in a barrel plate manner and an independent cooling tube passage is provided. CONSTITUTION:To at least one portion of an iron skin 1 higher than a tuyere position 26, copper cooling means 5 are provided and a cooling water is forcefully sent thereinto from a water supply connecting pipe 27 of a cooling pipe passage 6 to effectively cool a furnace wall 4 from a cast iron staving as well as uniformly cool from a cooling plate and a furnace wall brick 2 is prevented from being deteriorated due to heat load availably and said cooling water is exhausted from a water exhaust connecting pipe 25. On the other hand, to a portion different from these cooling means, a cast iron staving 3 is provided and, by a circulated cooling water supplied through a cooling pipe passage 27, said furnace wall is cooled. That is, the flow- out cooling water is passed through a reservoir tank 28, a water flow-down pipe 29 a circulating pump 30 and a heat exchanger 31, thereafter flowed into said staving 3 again.
