Abstract

PURPOSE:To make water supply operation easier by a method in which a water supply tank provided to a space of a vehicle is connected to a storage battery and the supply of water is controlled by a liquid level sensor provided to a pilot cell. CONSTITUTION:During use of the storage battery 1, the switches 21 and 21' for the liquid level sensor of the driver seat panel 28 are turned ON at proper time, the cocks 16 and 16' are opened when a display for need of water supply appears on the liquid level displayer plate 20, and then the switch 18 of the water supply pump 17 is turned ON, whereupon the purified water 19 is flowed into the water supply chamber 4 of the storage battery through the water supply pipe 15. The incoming purified water 19 is soon flowed through the water supply and gas exhaust hole 9 into the cell 6, and when the electrolyte level 24 rises and comes into contact with the electrode 11 of the sensor 13, the green lamp of the liquid level displayer plate 20 is lighted. When the water level rises further and comes into contact with the short electrode 11', a display for the stoppage of water appears and the switch 18 is operated to stop the supply of water. Then cocks 16 and 16' are closed.
