Abstract
PURPOSE: To carry out a temperature correction on a miniature device by extracting two kinds of frequency signals from one piezo-oscillator for which a free end of an oscillating arm is wide narrower than the base side.
CONSTITUTION: A width w0 of a free end of an oscillating arm of one tuning fork crystal oscillator is shaped narrow as compared with a width w of its base side, and two kinds of frequency signals of fundamental harmonic and secondary higher harmonic are extracted to correct temperature characteristic. Namely, by selecting w/w0 so as to have f2/f1 at an integral number, f1 and f2 being frequencies of fundamental harmonic and secondary higher harmonic respectively which are obtained through oscillation circuits 3a, 3b by the oscillator, a frequency f2' of secondary higher harmonic after frequency division 4 and the fundamental harmonic frequency f1 can easily be made coincident, and a difference Δf between f1 and f2 obtained through a beat circuit 5 may represent a value corresponding to a temperature. Therefore, from obtaining a correction factor fc through Δf and subjecting it to pulse control 7 to divide 8 f1+fc, a stable time standard signal is obtainable extensively on a miniature device available by single oscillator.
