Abstract
PURPOSE: To remove oxygen, etc. that interfers with measurement by a method wherein, when analyzing contaminating components such as organic carbon and nitrogen, a reducing portion is provided in the downstream of a heating portion.
CONSTITUTION: Sample water is sent to a defoaming apparatus 4 by a collecting pump 5, then to a combustion furnace 1 via a guiding inlet 2 at a constant speed by a injecting pump 3 after inorganic carbon is removed from the water. Simultaneously, a mixed gas of N2 and O2 is sent to the combustion furnace 1 from an O2 cylinder 9, N2 cylinder 10 via needle valves 6a, 6b and conduits 31, 32. The evaporated and burnt gas sample is cooled by a cooler 13a, and condensed water is stored in a storage tank 13b. The dehydrated gas sample reaches a gas entrance 36 of a flow passage converting valve 15 via a stop valve 7a, before being discharged passing through the entrance of a gauge glass 35, a gauge glass 30 and outlet of the sample 33. On the other hand, the carrier gas of a FID measurement system reaches FID19. The air discharged from small-sized compressor 20 enters FID19. The output of FID19 is supplied to a recorder 22 via an amplifier 21, and recorded.
